Ethnography

A Year in the Vyškov Region through Customs and Festivities

This ethnographic exhibition presents the rural life of people of the Vyškov Region in the past through key moments of human life (births, weddings, etc.) and the annual cycle of folk customs. Attention is also paid to subsistence, agriculture, and crafts. The exhibition presents products and working tools of folk craftsmen and farmers, folk costumes, and folk art. An integral part of the Vyškov folk culture presentation is a reminder of this German linguistic enclave, which was part of the Vyškov Region until 1945. A permanent addition to the exhibition includes interactive elements so you can walk in the shoes of a spinner, a market vendor or a carnival masquerade for a while.
